Anne Marie qualified as an RGN in 1992 and worked in the surgical setting during which she completed her MSc in Nursing in 1995. She obtained a scholarship to undertake her Phd at the University of Glamorgan (now University of South Wales) which was awarded in 2001. After completing her teaching qualification soon afterwards, Anne Marie has continued to work at the University of South Wales as a Senior Lecturer and teaches research methods across the spectrum of undergraduate and postgraduate nursing courses. She continues to remain research active and, over the last six years, has collaborated with Professor Wayne Richards and Ms Teresa Filipponi in their research on oral health in children and the impact of Designed to Smile. To date, their work has generated seven research papers in peer reviewed journals as well as three oral presentations at national and international conferences.
